Considerations in ADAS Calibration

Proper ADAS calibration involves a couple of different considerations. Although we’ll handle them all for you, we believe it’s helpful for you to be aware of what these are. First, recognize that multiple points could sustain damage or be jolted out of position during a crash or even a minor fender bender. Your ADAS-equipped vehicle likely has a windshield camera to help detect objects/vehicles in front of you. It also has sensors embedded in multiple places to assist you with maintaining lane control, warn you if you’re sleepy and drifting, etc. It is also great to understand the two major types of ADAS calibration. Some vehicles require static calibration. This is done while the vehicle is sitting still. Targets are located at a proper distance and height from the parked vehicle. Innovative tools are used to restore your auto to factory ADAS settings. Dynamic calibration occurs when the automobile is moving. The ADAS tools are used to take measurements at specified speeds and conditions. Some vehicles require both calibrations to ensure optimal ADAS function.
